The Houston Zoo’s fantastic annual eerie event, Zoo Boo, has returned this October with a month full of spooky, but not too spooky, fall festivities for the whole family.
Halloween season is upon us, Houston, and the party animals at the zoo are ready to celebrate. From now until the end of October, the Houston Zoo is hosting their special Zoo Boo event, filled with more fall festivities than ever!
For Zoo Boo 2022 presented by LyondellBasell, the zoo has transformed their grounds into an absolutely spook-tacular scene. Of the fall favorites returning this year include the stunning Pumpkin Lantern Tunnel between the lions and tigers exhibit, as well as the Giant Pumpkin and Carved Pumpkins, Scary-Go-Round, and other endless photo-ops!
This year, the zoo has debuted three new instant-classic exhibits, including glowing lights in Bug House day and night (more later), more spooky lights in the zoo’s African Forest, as well as an interactive dance floor, inside the John P. McGovern Children’s Zoo during Zoo Boo After Hours.
This October, the zoo will host special Zoo Boo After Hours until 8:30 pm, where in which the scenes will truly come aglow. Dates this month include October 7, October 14, October 21, and October 28. Zoo Boo After Hours entry is included with general admission tickets and is free for members. Last permitted entry is 7 pm.
For the optimal experience, the zoo encourages guests to dress up in costume. That said, the zoo is does ask that the costume wearers keep the little ghouls in mind, i.e. no excessive gore, sexiness, etc. Toy weapons of any kind are not allowed, nor are inflated costumes.
The Houston Zoo is open from 9 am to 5 pm daily; 5 pm to 8:30 pm for Zoo Boo After Hours.
