The Houston Zoo’s fantastic annual eerie event, Zoo Boo, will return this October with a month full of spooky, but not too spooky, fall festivities for the whole family.
Halloween season is almost here, Houston, and the party animals at the zoo are ready to celebrate. From September 27 until the end of October, the Houston Zoo will host their spectacular Zoo Boo event, filled with more fall festivities than ever!
For Zoo Boo 2024 presented by King & Spalding, the zoo will transform their grounds into an absolutely spook-tacular scene. Of the fall favorites returning this year include the stunning Pumpkin Lantern Tunnel between the lions and tigers exhibit, as well as the Giant Pumpkin, Pumpkin arch, Carved Pumpkins, Scary-Go-Round carousel, and other endless photo-ops!
This year, the zoo will debut an exciting collection of new attractions, including a ghost town between the giraffe barn and Cypress Circle, glowing pumpkins, and talking pumpkins at the end of the Spooky Forest.
This October, the zoo will host special Zoo Boo After Hours until 9:30 pm, where in which the scenes will truly come aglow. Dates this month include September 27, October 11, October 18, October 23 – 27. Zoo Boo After Hours entry is included with general admission tickets and is free for members. Last permitted entry is 7 pm.
For the optimal experience, the zoo encourages guests to dress up in costume. That said, the zoo is does ask that the costume wearers keep the little ghouls in mind, i.e. no excessive gore, sexiness, etc. Toy weapons of any kind are not allowed, nor are inflated costumes.
The Houston Zoo is open from 9 am to 5 pm daily; 5 pm to 9:30 pm for Zoo Boo After Hours.
