Yoyo’s is the undisputed street hotdog hot spot of Houston. Up until recently, the family-owned hotdog cart would attract hoards of customers in River Oaks. That is until this past January, when Yoyo’s announced that it and Oh My Gogi! would have to leave its longtime location. After hosting a couple pop-ups at The Den, the family-owned hotdog cart has found a new home at 8th Wonder Brewery.
True Houstonians are well aware of the sacrifice it takes to taste the best hotdogs in Houston. The lines in front of YoYo’s are stuff of legend – far surpassing the likes of Chick-Fil-A and The Breakfast Klub rivaling only the DMV. Good things come to those that wait and for Yoyo’s in Houston those good things are great dogs.
Speaking of waiting, it was back in January that Yoyo’s announced its departure from River Oaks. In the same announcements, Yoyo’s asked its followers for ideas on a new local. A month or so later, the beloved hotdog cart has found a home at 8th Wonder Brewery.
The hotdog cart specializes in 100% beef hot dogs. The house recommendation is to ask for everything AKA “All The Way” – a hotdog piled with sauteed onions, cream cheese, spicy mustard, honey mayo, curry ketchup, a dash of Sriracha and topped with sprinkled crispy fried onions.
“Big news for hot dog lovers! YoYo Hot Dogs has officially set up shop outside 8th Wonder Brewery with a new permanent location,” the company wrote in an Instagram post. “Stop by and indulge in our creative hot dog creations – the perfect pairing for your favorite brews. We can’t wait to see you there!”
Yoyo Hotdogs is a Houston street food institution that began back in 2010. After a stint in Fox Hollow, the hotdog cart moved to Rice Village.
Yoyo’s at 8th Wonder Brewery, located at 2202 Dallas St, opens at 8 pm and closes around 2 am Thursday through Saturday. Will there be loud blasting techno music at this location? That remains to be seen.
