Big thrills are on the horizon at Six Flags Over Texas — and they’re coming fast. The Arlington theme park just revealed plans for a jaw-dropping, world-record-breaking rollercoaster set to debut as early as 2026.
Called Tormenta Rampaging Run, this beast will be the world’s first giga dive coaster — meaning a dive coaster towering more than 300 feet high. Drawing inspiration from Spain’s famous running of the bulls, the ride will send guests climbing 309 feet skyward before hurtling them down a treacherous 95-degree drop at nearly 90 mph. Twists, plunges, and upside-down maneuvers promise to mimic the chaos and adrenaline of the bull run itself.
And this isn’t just another coaster — it’s a record-breaker six times over:
- Tallest Dive Coaster: Rising 307 feet, giving riders a glimpse of the Dallas–Fort Worth skyline before free-falling.
- Fastest Dive Coaster: Hitting speeds of 87 mph — faster than any other on the planet.
- Longest Dive Coaster: Spanning 4,199 feet of track with relentless twists and drops.
- Tallest Vertical Loop: A staggering 179-foot loop that eclipses anything else out there.
- Steepest Beyond-Vertical Drop: A 285-foot plunge at a 95-degree angle.
- Highest Immelmann Inversion: Riders will flip upside down 218 feet in the air.
“As the world’s first giga dive coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run introduces a completely new ride category, blending giga coaster heights with the fun and thrill of a dive coaster,” said the coaster’s engineers and designers President of Bolliger & Mabillard, Sophie Bolliger, in a press release.
“This level of innovation sets new standards for the theme park industry and our company is honored to be part of this historic moment with Six Flags”.
The ride will anchor Rancho de la Tormenta, the park’s Spanish village-inspired zone alive with vibrant artwork, festive music, and the brand-new Cocina Abuela restaurant.
