Austin transplant, Wonder Bar, has opened its Houston’s location.
iPhones at the ready, Houston, for a new selfie sanctuary has come to town with the opening of Austin-based Wonder Bar.
Quoting their Facebook, Wonder Bar is “an interactive and imaginative bar that will feature unique installations.” In the same vein as The FOMO Factory, or the Color Factory, Wonder Bar in Houston features a variety of whimsical installations, but with the added bonus of snapping selfies over rounds of sweet colorful cocktails.
While the bar decorations are rotational, installations have included a room of disco balls, massive interactive Price is Right wheel, cloud swing, and a wall of eggplant emojis.
Wonder Bar Houston cocktails are priced at $12 a piece. Options include names such as Disco Bull – made with Bacardi Dragonberry, Redbull Tropical, watermelon, and lime; Two In The Pink – consisting of Bombay Gin, Deep Eddy Ruby Red, Waterloo Grapefuit Soda, lime, and ginger beer; and Wonder Water – Patrón Silver, Patrón Citrónge Pineapple, Topo Chico, lime, pineapple. Equally noteworthy is the packaging of their drinks, which vary from actual disco balls, to tequila bottles and soda cans.
Food-wise, Wonder Bar Austin serves a variety of dishes. Appetizers, under “Shareables” on the menu, include Chips & Queso, Quac Is Extra, Buffalo Wings, Fried Pickles, and Mini Corn Dogs. Personal dishes, called “Selfies” on the menu, include tacos, a cheeseburger, and a chicken sandwich.
Wonder Bar also features a Secret Room Door, which includes even more colorful installations for bar patrons.
The bar is now open at 2416 Brazos St STE 200, or otherwise, the ground floor of 77 Degrees.
