Cynthia Erivo made her broadway debut in 2015, playing Celie Harris in The Color Purple – a performance that would earn her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. In 2018, the actress made her film debut in Bad Times at the El Royale. Since then, Erivo has starred in numerous movies and TV series including Widows, Carrier, Harriet, The Outsider, Pinocchio, Luther: The Fallen Sun, and others.

Erizo’s performance in the Jon Chu-directed movie was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. This spring, Erivo will be performing with the Houston Symphony.
