Yesterday could not have been better. Since the early morning, Astros fans poured into the streets of Downtown, Houston to behold the parade in all of its glory. This included floats, confetti canons, as well as Astros players in company of hometown heroes, not excluding Paul Wall, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, and Trae The Truth, in celebration of the World Series win.
While the parade, and following festivities, were a non-stop heart-warmer – one of the most wholesome incidents came when an Astros fan atop a parking garage dropped their hat. In a repeat of 2017, Astros fans came together to return the hat to the owner, tossing it up floor by floor.
The video, captured by Phillipe Photography, shows Astros fans tossing a hat up multiple floors of an unmarked parking garage. Skeptical viewers were so struck with deja vu that they believed the video to be from 2017. In response, Philipe Photography uploaded a series of other stories from yesterday’s parade proving that the event did indeed occur yesterday.
This was the second World Series parade to take place in Houston after the Astros won back in 2017. This go around, the parade featured a route twice the length of previous one with an attendance of over one million fans.
In celebration of the Astros victory, Houston and Aldine ISD gave the day off to students and faculty members in so that they could attend the parade.
The parade went off without a hitch. There was only one arrest during the festivities, which was that of a 33-year-old who chucked a beer can at Ted Cruz.
