The holidays are back in Houston and the city is here for it. Among our essential winter experiences, which include over-the-top Christmas pop-ups, wintry skating rinks, and full-scale winter wonderlands, we add a necessary homage to Frankie To-ong AKA H-Town Frankie immaculately choreographed Christmas light displays.
For the past nine years, H-town legend Frankie To-ong has dazzled us with his super-synchronized Christmas light decorations. Don’t take our word for it, just take a glimpse at his social media accounts; on TikTok alone, To-ong has garnered over 700,000 followers with over 20 million likes.
While it’s somewhat commonplace for synchronized holidays to be queued up to traditional Christmas songs, To-ong – a former DJ – puts his own spin on things by choreographing the displays oftentimes to his own mixes, an idea that was inspired by his wife he told Chron.
“When people know that the creator of this content is from Houston, that makes me proud,” To-ong said. “That is the coolest thing ever. This is my town. This is my city.”
To-ong resides in Spring Hills, but doesn’t provide an address as often becomes an issue for neighbors as similar decorators have experienced. Those interested in seeing the lights firsthand, can try contacting To-ong via his Instagram account for an exact address.
Otherwise, Secret Houston has compiled our favorite neighborhoods to see Christmas light decorations. Furthermore, Houstonians can check out our favorite public light displays from around the city here.
