If any of our readers out there have seen the 1996 film, Lonestar, starring Matthew McConaughey, Chris Cooper, and Elizabeth Peña, and recall the bar that which provided a pivotal setting for the movie – EZ’s Liquor Lounge is a lot like that.
An homage to small Texas town dives, specifically the town of Ezzell, EZ’s Liquor Lounge is a late-night vintage bar adorned in Americana relics, hand-crafted furniture, and glowing neon light.
EZ’s Liquor Lounge is a concept from the restaurant group, Agricole Hospitality. The group is the self-same behind some of the city’s beloved bars and restaurants, including: Coltivare, Miss Carousel, Vinny’s, Eight Row Flint, and Indianola.
Visitors can expect a no-frills selection of ice-cold beer, as well as wine, frozen drinks, and a crafted variety of cocktails. Co-owned by bar veteran Matt Tanner of Captain Foxheart’s Bad News Bar & Spirits Lounge and Anvil Bar & Refuge, Tanner promises top notch libations.
“We came to this agreement that we really wanted to open this neighborhood bar that made really great cocktails and give our take on every single dive bar that we loved going to,” Tanner told Eater.
While the menu is yet to be released, the bar plans to roll out a menu of twists on southern comfort food.
EZ’s Liquor Lounge is now open at 3302 White Oak Dr. in Houston in the company of Benny Thunders, Coltivare, and Onion Creek.
“Welcome H-Town, EZ’s is now officially ready for y’all. Can’t wait to throw these ice cold bevies down.”
