Uniqlo, often referred to as the Japanese Zara, will finally arrive in Texas. And we say finally because there are 1,500 Uniqlo stores in the world and starting this fall there will be two Uniqlo locations in Houston.
Reports per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings revealed Uniqlo had purchased a 21,647-square-foot space at Memorial City Mall then occupied by Forever 21. The slated completion date of construction in the filing is listed as September 6th of this year.
Uniqlo has set a date for its two Houston-area locations at Memorial City Mall on October 11 and Sugar Land’s First Colony Mall on October 18. The store plans to celebrate their Houston-area openings with special deals, giveaways, and more festivities.
The Japanese firm carved out a niche for itself among the largest textile multinationals on the market thanks to an offer of simple clothing at low prices. It has offices in eight European countries and in large metropolises around the world such as New York, Bangkok and Seoul.
