Uniqlo, which has been christened and endlessly referred to as the Japanese Zara, will finally arrive in Texas. And we say finally because there have been a few attempts in recent years. And we say finally because there are 1,500 Uniqlo stores in the world and starting this fall there will be one in Houston.
The Japanese firm has carved out a niche for itself among the largest textile multinationals on the market thanks to an offer of simple clothing at low prices. It has offices in eight European countries and in large metropolises around the world such as New York, Bangkok and Seoul.

Per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings, Uniqlo has purchased the 21,647-square-foot space at Memorial City Mall presently occupied by Forever 21. The slated completion date of construction in the filing is listed as September 6th of this year.
Originally, Uniqlo intended to open a store in Houston back in 2020, but due to the pandemic was forced to postpone.

The coming location at the Memorial City Mall in Houston will be Uniqlo’s first location in Texas.
