When is the Tomball German Heritage Festival?
The Tomball German Festival has two iterations. During the holidays, the Tomball German Christmas Market is one of the most beloved events of the season. During the springtime, it’s no different. The Tomball German Heritage Festival takes place on the last weekend of March from March 27 through March 29, 2026.
Where/How to get to the Tomball German Heritage Festival?
The Tomball German festival takes place off the Historical Train Depot Plaza at 201. S. Elm Street. Street parking is available at no cost around the festival. The festival also offers a free shuttle service at the HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball east parking lot. The shuttle service runs from 10 am – 10:30 pm on Saturday as well as 10 am – 6:30 pm on Sunday.

For the real experience, be sure to indulge in the festival’s many Bavarian delights. Savory bratwurst, pierogi, delectable apple strudel, and giant pretzels are just a few of the many dishes offered at the festival – among more American options like hamburgers and pizza.
Furthermore, the festival is known for its wide selection of German beers and wines. In addition to offering local craft beer as well as domestic staples, the festival serves a variety of brews from the well-respected German brewer, Warsteiner.
Important to note: all beer sales at the festival are CASH-ONLY. While there are ATMs on-site, you can avoid the lines by coming prepared.
Shopping
The festival features an open-air, European-style marketplace packed with vendors. Whether you’re looking to scale-up your Dirndl or Lederhosen or are searching for artisan gifts, jewelry, or general German souvenirs, you’re sure enjoy browsing at the festival.
Entertainment lineup
This weekend, the Tomball German Festival will feature a wide entertainment lineup with over 30 performers across four stages. Slated acts include the “Accordian Cowboy” Chris Ryback Band, festival-staple Alex Meixner Band, Rathkamp German Folk Dancers, and upbeat German group, Das Ist Lustig.

- Stein-Hoisting Competition: 4:45 pm and 6 pm on Saturday for adults; 1 pm Saturday and 2:30 pm on Sunday for kids
- Chicken Dance Contest: Saturday 5:15 pm
- Yodeling Contest: Saturday 7 pm
- Party Spiele: Saturday 7 pm and Sunday 4:15 pm
