Houstonians, if you were devastated when The Rustic closed its downtown doors late last year, we have some seriously good news for you. The Texas-inspired music venue, bar, and restaurant is officially making acomeback, and construction is already underway!
The original Polk Street location had to say goodbye at the end of 2025 to make way for the massive expansion of the George R. Brown Convention Center. FreeRange Concepts—co-owned by Texas country legend Pat Green—partnered with Houston First Corporation to keep The Rustic alive, and in a new iteration that promises to be bigger and better than ever.

A Massive New Footprint
Get ready for some serious space to two-step. The new venue is taking over an entire city block at the southwest corner of Jackson and Pease streets (1718 Jackson St.). Bordered by Jackson, Pease, Jefferson, and Crawford, the new spot is just two blocks south of the Toyota Center.
Clocking in at an impressive 18,300 square feet, the custom-built venue will feature exactly what made the original location so popular: sweeping indoor spaces seamlessly connected to massive outdoor patios.
The Food, The Drinks, The Music
If you loved the vibe of the original, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The Rustic is bringing back all of its signature staples. Expect to feast on their famous Texas comfort food while sipping from an extensive menu of premium beers, wines, and cocktails.
Of course, it wouldn’t be The Rustic without the tunes. The venue will feature a massive outdoor stage and continue its tradition of hosting free live music throughout the week, making it the ultimate pre- and post-game hangout spot for sports fans and concertgoers alike.

When Does It Open?
While we are eagerly counting down the days, we still have a little bit of a wait. With construction officially kicking off in late May 2026, the brand-new downtown flagship is slated to open its doors in March 2027.
When it finally opens, The Rustic will serve as a major anchor for downtown Houston’s rapidly expanding convention and entertainment district, breathing new life into the neighborhood just in time for the city’s future mega-events.
