Around these parts, KRBE is known as “Houston’s #1 hit music station”. This weekend, however, in honor of pop icon, Taylor Swift’s three-concert stint at the NRG Center in Houston the radio station will be known as “Tay-RBE”.
Following the tour announcement this past November – which abruptly sent the internet into a frenzy – Taylor Swift officially kicked off “The Era’s Tour” earlier this spring. This weekend the superstar will continue her national domination in Houston – and guess what, we’re here for it.
It’s not just us, though. Local radio station KRBE is going all in on Taylor this weekend. Beginning this weekend, KRBE is changing its name to “TAY-RBE”.
“Taylor Swift is a music icon who transcends all genres, lifestyles, and ages,” Leslie Whittle of 104.1 KRBE said in a Monday news release. “I’m proud that TAY-RBE is Houston’s Swiftie destination as we celebrate her generational talent. This week is going to be fun!”.
104.1 KRBE isn’t the only station with Taylor Swift fever. Mix 96.5 will also undergo a nominal change, adopting the name “Mix 9-T. Swift-5” for the occasion.
Whether or not you were fortunate enough to cop tickets for the weekend concert series, you can experience T. Swift’s music in an entirely new light at Candlelight’s enchanting tribute concert series.
