A couple years back, we covered a study that condemned Houston as the worst big city for live music. While we very much disagree, we are here for any improvements. Answering the call, the City of Webster has announced the new Sunset Amphitheater: a $150 million outdoor concert and entertainment venue at Webster’s Flyway district.
The Sunset Amphitheater is a product of entertainment and hospitality firm, Venu Holding Corporation or VENU. The company designs, develops, owns, and manages a portfolio of upscale music venues and luxury destinations, prioritizing premium amenities and top-tier guest service.
In partnership with VENU, EIGHT Elite Light Beer, City of Webster, and the Webster Economic Development Corporation, the multi-seasonal outdoor concert venue will occupy 34 acres and feature a capacity of 12,500 attendants.

The venue will be located at Webster’s Flyway Entertainment and Tourism district near the Grand Wolf Lodge. Priced at $150 million, the venue will be outfitted in wind walls, a canopy roof, and packed with cutting-edge audio-visual systems. The venue will operate year-round and is projected to secure $3.7 billion in revenue within its first 20 years while providing over 400 new jobs.
“This is an announcement we’ve been thrilled to make, and it represents a major step forward,” said J.W. Roth, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of VENU. “With Webster’s deep roots in innovation and exploration, Flyway is elevating the region’s entertainment scene to new heights.”
“This announcement marks a defining moment for Webster and for Flyway,” said Donna Jasso, Mayor of Webster in a press release.
“This amphitheater advances Webster’s super-regional draw and builds on strengths that continue to fuel Flyway’s momentum, further establishing the district as a premier entertainment hub for the Southeast Texas region. It brings long-term economic growth, new jobs, and increased visitor traffic that supports our businesses. We are proud to partner with VENU on a project that reflects the scale, ambition, and energy of our vision for Webster’s future.”

The venue’s design centers on premium, integrated viewing areas. The Aikman Club, a 350-seat, membership-only lounge, serves as a primary feature. This elevated space is a collaboration with NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, whose EIGHT Elite Light Beer is a key partner, offering members exclusive hospitality and prime stage vantage points.
Complementing the club are 217 individual Luxe FireSuites. These private suites, which seat between 4 and 10 fans each, are designed for high-end service, featuring unique fire design elements and full in-seat ordering capabilities, ensuring a superior viewing experience for all suite holders.
Officials have not yet released a time frame on the venue’s opening date, but have plans to do so over the next couple months.
