Summer is here, Houston! For the sole sake of survival, you got to stay cool. The best way to do so, in our experience, is a day spent at the pool, with a couple of refreshing drinks in hand. While there are a number of poolside bars in Houston, the latest to debut is the new Soluna at Heights House Hotel.
Soluna is a concept from the team that brought Houston Betelgeuse Betelgeuse. Where as Betelgeuse Betelgeuse is a pizza-slinging cocktail concept with a penchant for seasonal pop-ups, Soluna is a Latin-inspired flexible venue that marries four concepts in one.

As described on its website, Soluna is a tropical-inspired neighborhood bar and kitchen, official food and beverage Heights House Hotel partner, private event space, and dynamic venue.
For the record, you don’t need to be a guest at Heights House Hotel to visit Soluna, or be a visitor to swim at the pool. Day passes are available.
Bar-wise, Soluna offers a wide range of coffees – including cortados – cocktails, beers, and N/A beverages. As for its cocktails, visitors can delight in a tropical assortment of warm-weather-ready drinks, ranging from margs, to classic daiquiris, pina coladas, as well as micheladas, mojitos, and more.

The venue also features a full kitchen on-site, featuring a variety of Latin-inspired dishes ranging from elote to ceviche, breakfast burritos to cubanos. Its menu is divided into shareables, all-day breakfast, tacos, handhelds (or con sus manos), and sweets.
Once the bar and kitchen gets its feet, Soluna plans to host an array of live events. Think film screenings, live music, markets, pop-ups, and the like.
From 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, the venue serves brunch; options here include the likes of rustic potatoes, breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, burgers, and wings al pastor.
Soluna is located at Heights House Hotel at 100 W. Cavalcade St. The venue is presently open from 9 am to 4 pm daily, though it has plans to expand those hours in the near future.
