Premier Houston market, rooftop park, and concert venue, POST, will debut the new Austrian-based Solar Dust exhibition this weekend. The immersive new exhibit blends light, sound, and technology in an entrancing and contemplative experience.
Opened only a few years ago, POST Houston has become one of the biggest destination spaces in Houston. Home a trio of skylit atriums, concert venue, as well as some of the best eateries in town, there’s always something to do at POST.
Among its extensive program of events slated for this season, POST will debut Solar Dust this weekend. Organized by POST’s Art Club, Solar Dust is the brainchild of Quiet Ensemble. Quiet Ensemble, established in Rome, Italy in 2009 by Fabio Di Salvo and Bernardo Vercelli, crafts immersive creations blending music, visual arts, and technology.
This is equally true for the new Solar Dust exhibition. Solar Dust is a wondrous fusion of light, sound, and the connectivity of nature and technology. Initially showcased in Austria, Solar Dust is set to premiere in the US at POST Houston.
The exhibition features a series of cutting-edge lasers projecting flowing volumes of shadows and emptiness onto a mass of steel-filament tulle. This choreographed interplay of shadows and light suggests the suspension of light particles in space.
“As visitors navigate the exhibition, they are invited to contemplate the delicate balance between light and dark, sound and silence, order and chaos.”
Solar Dust premiers at POST on Saturday, June 1. Tickets are now on sale through the POST website starting at $7. Visitors can find the exhibition on the second level of the market next to the Food Hall.
