Rooftop Cinema Club Announces Spine-Chilling October Program

Hope you like horror movies, Houston!

October is here, what better way to spend spooky season then to curl up with some popcorn and watch a scary movie? This October, the Rooftop Cinema Club of Houston is conjuring up a special batch of movies that will give you the heebie jeebies – the good kind. [Featured image: @rooftopcinemaclub]

The Rooftop Cinema Club is an open-air theater on top of the Whole Foods in BLVD Place. It provides an atmosphere of what’s been called “social cinema” wherein viewers at times walk around and interact with the environment during the course of the movie.

After a brief hiatus, the cinema re-opened in Uptown this past September.

With October now here, the cinema club is pulling out all the stops to make Halloween season terrific in Houston:

“We’re kicking off our October program by gearing up for the spookiest month of the year,” the website reads. “You can see visionary animation in Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas, have fun being bad alongside Beetlejuice and the witches of Hocus Pocus and The Craft, and enjoy some old school scares in Tales From the Hood and The Shining!”

Plus, show up to a screening in costume and receive free candy on the house!
