Now largely occupied by Round1 Arcade & Bowling, the former Sears at Willowbrook Mall will welcome a new tenant. This July, hugely popular fast-fashion giant, Primark, will open its doors – offering low-cost, international fashion.
Founded in Dublin, Ireland circa 1969 under the name “Penneys”, Primark started with the purpose of selling fashionable clothing at low prices. Beginning its expansion in 1974 with a storefront in Great Britain, the brand has continued to spread across Europe. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that Primark opened a location in the U.S. Presently, Primark has over 490 stores across 19 countries. In 2025, Primark opened its first Houston-area location at Katy Mills Mall.

The high-volume retailer is built around affordable clothing, frequent store traffic, and in-person shopping – versus a digital-first approach. In addition to budget-friendly men’s, women’s, and children’ clothing, Primark offers accessories, beauty items, and household items.
This July, Primark will open its second Houston-area location – and seventh Texas storefront – at Willowbrook Mall in Houston. The Houston store coincides with the opening of a Primark location at Castleton Square Mall in Indianapolis.
“”Our continued US ambition is something we’re really proud of. I’m as excited about expanding Primark’s presence in the Lone Star State as I am at our entry into Indy,” said Kevin Tulip, President of Primark US in a press release.

“We know that Primark’s offering of quality fashion at exceptional value is more important than ever to today’s consumers, and we’re looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming customers in Houston and Indianapolis.”
Housed inside a 30,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Sears, the store will host a grand opening on July 16, 2026. Starting at 11 am, the grand opening event will feature giveaways and sweet treats. A press release states that its Houston location will feature low-cost sports teams merchandise, including Texans and Rockets ware.
