Located on the grounds of the former Barbara Jordan Post Office, POST market opened in November 2021 where it has since cemented itself as a premier entertainment destination in Houston. The sprawling cutting-edge facility houses some of the city’s coolest eateries, vendors, and concepts including its recently opened Art Club – part museum, part nightclub.
The market’s main attraction, debatably, is its sprawling five-acre rooftop and park. Here, the market hosts a wonderful series of events ranging from free yoga classes and farmers markets to its Concerts Under the Stars series, Winter Wonderlawn, and NYE Fireworks show.
This winter, the already-innovative market is scaling up with the addition of brand-new rooftop event spaces. Slated to open this winter, POST plans to open two new private event spaces called the Penthouse and Skylawn Room.

Described as its largest rooftop event space, the Penthouse will be located on top of the market’s Z Atrium. The 7,500-square-foot space will provide an elegant setting designated to host events ranging from weddings to galas, and soirées, providing seated dining of 300 guests and a maximum capacity of 497 people – all with stunning views of the market’s rooftop park. Bookings are now presently available through the POST team.
The Skylawn Room will be connected to the rooftop park, located near the X Atrium’s north elevator. Spanning 5,100 square feet, the Skylawn Room will provide a more intimate venue and space intended for business ventures and other collaboration needs. Maximum capacity of the Skylawn Room is 344. The Skylawn Room is also available for booking through the POST website.

“As fully enclosed structures, Penthouse and Skylawn Room boast soaring views of Skylawn and take the city’s extreme weather conditions out of the event-planning equation,” said POST Houston general manager, Meredith Powell in a press release. “Penthouse will provide the perfect setting for galas, weddings or any star-lit celebration while Skylawn Room offers state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities for business events, training seminars, and other corporate functions.”
Both of the new event spaces at POST are planned to open in winter 2025. The market has not yet released a specific opening date. Presently, parties can book private events at its flexible Outpost event space on the rooftop’s east side.
