Following in the footsteps of the Asian Night Market, Otaku Food Fest made its Houston debut three summers ago. Organized by TanukiGo, a longstanding Japanese street food vendor and food festival feature, Otaku Food Festival returns to the Houston area this weekend.
The food market first took place on July 31 and August 1 two years ago at the Vietnamese Community Center. In addition to an array of Asian street vendors, the festival featured a cosplay contest, parade, and Itasha car show. This time around, Otaku is going even bigger.
Beginning noon Saturday, March 2, the free Otaku Anime + Food Festival will feature a lantern parade, cosplay, over 20 food and drink vendors, as well as over 80 anime vendors, voice actors, and entertainment all day long!
The Cherry Blossom, Food, & Anime Festival will take place this year at the Pearland Town Center located at 11200 Broadway St Pearland, TX.
“Food vendors will be serving food from all across Asia, including Filipino food, Japanese street food, Thai street food, Taiwanese boba tea, noodles, baos, Latin food, Vietnamese grilled chicken and eggrolls, and soo much more!”
Entry to the food festival is free and requires no prior RSVP. Visitors are encouraged to carry cash. Otaku Food Festival starts at noon on March 2 going until 8 pm, and runs from noon to 6 pm on Sunday, March 3. This weekend’s festival might go down as the best one yet, you don’t want to miss it!
