Prost! A brand new Bavarian-inspired Oktoberfest celebration is coming to Houston! Kicking off this September, Oktoberfest Nation will bring a month’s worth of Munich-influenced mayhem to Houston’s East Downtown.
Oktoberfest Nation is a concept from We Love Pop Ups, the group behind the seasonal, holiday Frosty’s Christmas Bar in Houston. Opening September 25, Oktoberfest Nation in Houston will bring a full-scale Oktoberfest experience to EaDo.
Running through October 24th, the Houston Oktoberfest celebration will transform a 14,000-square-foot space in EaDo into a Bavarian beer hall, complete with long picnic tables, waving flags, and live stage.
Throughout the month, festival-goers can enjoy Bavarian beers, including the official Hofbräu München beer, as well as featuring traditional festival food like bratwursts and giant pretzels, as well as a live German band, carnival games, and stein-holding competitions.
“The second you walk in; you feel like you somehow landed in Munich,” said Beth Bortz of We Love Pop Ups in a press release.
“You have a Hofbräu München in your hand, the band is going, steins are in the air, everyone is singing and someone in your group is taking the stein holding competition way too seriously. That’s Oktoberfest Nation. You don’t just come for a beer. You get completely pulled into it. We’ve watched Chicago fall in love with that experience, and we cannot wait to bring it to Houston.”
Event officials encourage visitors to come dressed in their lederhosen and dirndls. Oktoberfest Nation is an all-ages event; visitors must be 21+ to purchase alcohol.
In addition to German beers, the event bar will also offers cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic options.
Oktoberfest Nation takes place from September 25 – October 24 at 2106 Dallas St., Ste. 100, Houston, TX 77003.
Tickets for the experience will be available directly through the event website. Interested parties can join the Oktoberfest Nation Houston waitlist. While Houston details have yet to be revealed, Oktoberfest Nation Chicago tickets are available in timed entries, and vary price-wise by date, time, and package. Per past Chicago experience, prices will likely waver in the $15 – $30+ range.
Be apprised, Oktoberfest Nation regularly sells out in Chicago, so be sure to snatch your tickets as soon as you can.
