Over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails have been unveiled, marking 72 years of the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails. These trails, the oldest of their kind in the state, attract tens of thousands of visitors annually to Ennis, recognized as the “Official Bluebonnet City of Texas.”
Situated southwest of Dallas, Ennis is now presenting its enchanting trails to the public as part of the 2024 Ennis Bluebonnet Festival, which commenced at the beginning of April.
Sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club, the festival will feature over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails on display from April 1st to 30th, alongside a special Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival from Friday, April 19th to Sunday, April 21st, offering live music, arts & crafts, food, and more.
Since being designated as the home of the Official Texas Bluebonnet Trail by the 1997 State Legislature, Ennis has proudly held the title of the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas, drawing flower and nature enthusiasts alike.
The Ennis Garden Club notes that the bluebonnets in Ennis typically reach their peak around the third week of April, although this timing can vary depending on weather conditions and terrain. Visitors are advised to check the website or call 972-878-4748 before planning their visit.
