While the city has a couple fireworks displays planned, there does seem to be a large drop-off than in previous years. In past years, Downtown, Houston has been known to host the most spectacular fireworks shows over the years – whether for New Year’s or the Shell Freedom Over Texas Fourth of July fireworks show, the events are celebrated with festivities, vendors, and live concerts.
While hype for NYE fireworks in Houston was a bit hushed over December, POST has announced the reprisal of its New Year’s Eve fireworks show – promising a bigger and better fireworks display than ever before.
At the time of this article, tickets are still available to spectacular New Year’s Eve spectacle. For this year’s event, organizers have tapped Pyrotechnics company, Celestial Displays to launch fireworks from multiple areas across the venue’s parking lot. Doors open to the event at 9 pm. The New Year’s Eve bash ends at 2 am.
For an alternative glimpse at the NYE fireworks display in Downtown, Houston, you can partake in the festivities at DowntownFest Houston’s free New Year’s Eve celebration in the area. The event is free, but select venues and rooftops are prone to charge cover. RSVP is encouraged.
All said, if you’re looking to watch fireworks in Downtown Houston on New Year’s Eve, POST Houston is where to be. For other NYE fireworks in the Houston area, however, NYE fireworks displays planned for Kemah and Sugar Land.
