In honor of the late, beloved actor, Matthew Perry, Rooftop Cinema Club is hosting a special screening of the Matthew Perry-starring film, Fools Rush In.
Matthew Perry is of course best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit television show, Friends. Throughout his career, however, Perry starred in a number of movies including 17 Again, The Whole Nine Yards, and Three to Tango.
In his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry cited Fools Rush In as his best movie.
The film, released on Valentine’s Day 1997, is a story about two people – Alex (Matthew Perry) and Isabel (Salma Hayek) – who decide to get married following an unintended pregnancy that resulted from an ill-fated one-night stand.
Tonight at 6:45 pm, Rooftop Cinema Club is celebrating the late actor with a screening of the movie. In addition, Rooftop Cinema Club will be donating $5 of each ticket to the Matthew Perry Foundation, a foundation created by the actor to help those struggling with addiction.
“Please join us for a special memorial screening of Fools Rush In to honor legendary actor, Matthew Perry,” the cinema writes on their website. “It’s hard to lose a friend, and with his incredible portrayal of Chandler Bing on the hit TV show Friends, Matthew Perry felt like one of our closest pals.”
As of the moment of this article’s publication, there are still tickets available for the screening. Tickets are priced at $20.
Rooftop Cinema Club is located at 1700 Post Oak Blvd in Uptown. The cinema curates a “social cinema” atmosphere in which viewers can walk about and interact throughout the course of the screening.
