The first official Houston Markets For Makers opens this weekend at Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards. The much-anticipated event will take place from November 12 to 13th, with doors opening at 11 AM and closing at 4 PM.
Specializing in curated wares, Markets for Makers is a great chance to discover one-of-a-kind and small-batch items from entrepreneurial businesses in the area. With 90+ talented makers featured, the event specializes in home decor, fashion, art, design, food, and more, with plenty of eye-catching items to peruse.
Founder Natalie Christensen first started the market in 2015 and since then, it has grown into a key collaborative event that celebrates the local community. It’s also a standout way to shop a diverse collection of handmade items, independent art, boutique finds, and vintage treasures, with plenty of unique items that you can’t find anywhere else.
Some local makers include plant-based and cruelty-free beauty products from Anygo Beauty, vintage-Texas themed retailer Betexas, gourmet knives by Blades By Tony, art and design from Black Tea Cafe Design, hometown hot sauce via Bravado Spice, handmade embroidery via Classical Gardens, and even more awesome finds!
Those looking to attend this weekend will enjoy hundreds of vendors, along with a DIY photo wall, and plenty of food and drinks, too. It’s a can’t miss annual experience and a great place to score a good holiday gift for loved ones. Hosted at the local Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards, the space is set to be transformed into a friendly, inviting, and inclusive environment for shoppers and booth owners alike. At the event, everyone is welcome to connect, and champion each other’s work. Houston isn’t their only market–there are also annual events in Chicago, Miami and Jacksonville, FL.
PS: The event is pet friendly! Get general admission tickets here for $8 or go VIP for $18.
