Parrotheads delight, a titanic new Margaritaville oasis is in development for Galveston. RREAF Holdings and Innisfree Hotels have procured the necessary permits to open a new Margaritaville resort that will include a 334-room hotel, 2.5-acre water park, ballroom, and more.
RREAF Holdings, the Dallas-based company behind numerous resorts, residential complexes, restaurants, and other properties in the south, and Innisfree Hotels, a hospitality company that owns 27 destination properties and beachfront hotels across five states, are sealing the deal on a $250 Margaritaville development in Galveston.
The new, 300,000-square-foot, 334-room development located at 317 E. Beach Dr. is positioned to feature a 2.5-acre waterpark with beach views, direct beach access, numerous on-site restaurants, ballroom, and more. Additional amenities include a pickleball court, lazy river, adult pool, and family entertainment center.
Having procured the necessary permits, developers have a projected groundbreaking date in either May or June.
“The Galveston market has exponential growth opportunities stimulated by its economy and the evolution of people moving to Texas in the past two years,” said Kip Sowden, CEO of RREAF Holdings in a press release.
“We are honored to work with such distinguished companies as Innisfree Hotels and Margaritaville. With best-in-class management and highly amenitized options for our customers, we are offering a premier experience in a well-positioned hospitality asset for a fruitful future.”
Islanders are aware that there is an existing Camp Margaritaville Beach Club and Resort in Crystal Beach. The two resorts, however, will be owned and operated separately.
“With this resort and additional lodging destinations, communities and cottages coming soon, more of these turns in the road will lead to fun, escapism, and our iconic state of mind,” said Jim Wiseman, President of Development at Margaritaville.
