People who have experienced a lively weekend in College Station, whether during their educational residency or not, are likely familiar with Layne’s. This chicken finger chain, poised to achieve fame, has breathed new life into the university and college student scene with its delectable chicken fingers, Texas toast, and mystery sauce. Interestingly, one of its first outlets is situated right across the street from Raising Cane’s.
On January 20, Layne’s plans to host a grand opening for their first inner loop location. This Saturday, the fried-chicken franchise plans to host a special celebration. Beginning at 11 am, the grand opening ceremony will feature a live DJs, free samples, swag giveaways, and the chance to win free Layne’s for a year.

“I am thrilled to be opening another Layne’s in Houston,” said Masroor Fatany in a press release. “The simple menu has been thriving post-pandemic, and the brand has retained its young audience. It’s a cluckin’ good time to be part of Layne’s!”
The Layne’s opening at 2359 S Shepherd Dr. is Layne’s second location in Houston, following the opening of their location in the upper Heights area (3008 Ella Blvd). The Montrose outpost marks their 11th Texas location.
