Czech this out. A recent report shows that Kolache Kafe in Tomball is taking kolaches mainstream. The Houston-area kolache shop has just been named among the best low-priced restaurants in the country and the very best in Texas.
A new study conducted by CashNetUSA set out to map out the highest-rated, budget-friendly restaurants across the country.
In order to determine the nation’s best, the company calculated precise five-star ratings down to two decimal places for Yelp’s cheapest tier to pinpoint exactly where diners get the best value.
At No. 3 of the best budget-friendly restaurants in the country is Kolache Kafe. Located at 11690 Spring Cypress Rd in Tomball, Kolache Kafe was created by husband-and-wife team, Stephen and Ashley Ewalk.
The cafe features baked-fresh kolaches with high-quality ingredients. Favorites here include the chorizo kolache, bacon, egg, and cheese kolache, and strawberry kolache.
Visitors are also encouraged to try the restaurant’s specialty kolaches. Available on weekends, the eatery offers the likes of BBQ Brisket, BBQ Pulled Pork and Bacon Jalapeño Cheddar (the Stephen), and Mac n’ Cheese kolaches.
Prices range from $3.99 to $4.99 per kolache. The eatery also serves scones, muffins, homemade pop tarts, cinnamon rolls, and specialty cinnamon rolls.
Kolache Kafe is open daily from 6 am to noon.
