Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, incumbent Democratic leader, President Joe Biden, continues his campaign through Texas this week with a planned Houston visit this Thursday, March 21.
The president’s Houston visit comes following a stop in Dallas scheduled for today. Both visits are for fundraising purposes, otherwise there have been no further public details released regarding either visit.
Biden recently visited Brownsville in Texas to discuss the border situation with local elected leaders, personnel, and federal agents. The president then held a conference calling on politicians to pass the Senate’s bipartisan border security agreement.
At the time of Biden’s Brownsville visit, Trump held a conference with Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, in Eagle Pass on the border situation.
Biden’s visit to Houston follows in the wake of his 2024 State of the Union address, where he discussed the economy, drug pricing, IVF, student loans, tax cuts, immigration, Israel, and other pressing topics ahead of the election.
Presidential polls continue to fluctuate between Biden and Trump. Recent polls conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and Emerson College both put Biden ahead of Trump by a small margin. Other polls, such as the ones published Redfield & Wilton Strategies on March 2 and YouGov on March 3, have Trump ahead of Biden by a number of points.
Joe Biden is the incumbent, and leading Democratic candidate for the coming 2024 presidential election; Marianne Williamson and Jason Palmer are also vying for the Democratic nomination while Jill Stein, Dr. Kornell West, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are running 3rd party campaigns. Former president Donald J. Trump is the sole republic candidate for the 2024 election.
