A new hotspot is opening in The Heights this Friday.
Go somewhere new for date night this weekend at Trattoria Sofia, a charming new Italian Bistro from the Berg Hospitality Group opening this Friday, November 26.
The romantically rustic new bistro will feature a intimate dining room as well as a patio “reminiscent of a secret garden,” or else a small pocket of Italy in The Heights.
Trattoria Sofia is a project from Berg Hospitality Group, the minds behind some of Houston’s more recognizable cafes, bars, and restaurants, including: B.B. Lemon, The Annie Café & Bar, NoPo Café, B.B. Italia Kitchen, and more.
Their focus with their latest project, Trattoria Sofia, is to create an intimate space and experience where patrons can dine on classic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Using fresh and seasonal ingredients, as well as a concentration on market availability, its menu offers lunch, dinner, and dessert options.
Lunch at the restaurant is served daily from 11 am to 4 pm. Options range from Crostini, Salsa, Verdura, Antipasti, Secondi, Contori, and Aperitivo Di Mare, to more recognizable categories such as Panini, Pizza, and Pasta.
Its dinner menu is broken down similarly, with the addition of Bruschetta. Notable dishes include the Polpo Arrosto, made with wood-fire-roasted octopus, Sicilian tomato pesto, crispy potatoes, salsa verde basil, parsley and lemon; Bucatini Alla Pesto Siciliano, with Bucatini, Sicilian pesto, ricotta, Pecorino Siciliana, toasted pistachio, mint, basil, lemon zest, and peperoncino; and Crudo Di Pesce, with raw fresh fish, lime, dill, mint, EVOO, peperoncino, Calabrese, sea salt, and farro.
In addition to red, white, and sparkling wines, Trattoria Sofia also serves a variety of enticing cocktails, including its Truffled Gibson, made with Gin, orange bitters, vermouth, and onion brine with truffle oil; Jasmine Fizz, with rum, jasmine honey, egg white, lemon juice, and soda; and Modena Cup, mixed with Pimm’s, gin, blood orange syrup, strawberry, and white balsamic vinaigrette.
Trattoria Sofia opens at 911 W 11th St, Houston, TX 77008 in The Heights this Friday. Visitors can make reservations through its website here.
