In the last legs of April, Houston is ready to go out with a bang before the arrival of May next week. This weekend’s events include a Texas-sized hoedown and screening of Urban Cowboy, a Texans Draft Party, and one last appearance from the Hello Kitty Food Truck. While nothing severe ought to be in store, forecasters are predicting windy weather with minor, to more major, chance of weekend showers.
Friday
Reports indicate that strong winds will proliferate this weekend in Houston. Though temperatures will be in the 80s, winds are expected to pick up to around 30 mph throughout this Friday and into the weekend. Houston might also see scattered showers with a possibility of thunderstorms later today. This is particularly the case for north Houston areas.
Saturday
Saturday will see a little more of the same. Forecasters predict that the winds will increase to a 35 mph level. Otherwise, the day will see a marginal chance of rain in pre-dawn and late evening hours with highs in the 80s and lows in the 70s. You might want to put a little product in your hair because Saturday will be a humid one.
Sunday
The winds are predicted to slow a bit this Sunday. Though it will be the most likely day of the weekend to see rainfall. Isolated thunderstorms could be a problem in the morning and afternoon, while Sunday night there’s a chance for scattered thunderstorms – though conditions will be mainly cloudy. Highs in the low 80s, lows in the low 70s.
Next week
The Weather Channel predicts that scattered thunderstorms will continue into well into next week. By next weekend, Houston might see a little respite from the rain.
