The empire that is Hello Kitty can not be overstated. What began as a fashion mascot imprinted on a coin purse, has grown into various TV series, video games, and albums; merchandise lines of epic proportions, including toys, backpacks, toasters, and luxury “items” such as restaurants, jewelry, and jet airliners just to name a few.
Also included, is the Hello Kitty Cafe Food Truck, which is making two stops in the Houston area, one last week at The Woodlands Mall on April 20 and a stop at this weekend at the Baybrook Mall on April 27.
In 2014, Hello Kitty steered into the food truck business. Their pop-up cafe food truck has since driven across the country, parking in various cities around the globe to deliver themed food, drinks, and merchandise to adoring fans. This April it will return to Houston in celebration of its 50th anniversary.
Its menu features an assortment of sweets available in packages varying in number. This includes a minicakes (4 for $16), macarons (5 for $16), cookies (3 for $13), madeleines (8 for $10), and giant Hello Kitty chef cookies $13 a piece.
As mentioned, the truck will also have a variety of Hello Kitty merchandising for purchase. Items include tote bags, lunch boxes, mugs, thermals, plush pillows, shirts, pins, and face masks. All supplies are subject to availability.
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck will be parked at the Baybrook Mall in Friendswood from 10 am to 7 pm on April 27. Here, you can pay homage to the iconic character while perusing through the truck’s collection of merchandise and treats.
If elsewhere in Texas, the Hello Kitty truck will also make stops at The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth on May 4 from 10 am to 7 pm.
