Summer is on the horizon, and with it the Fourth of July. If you’re wanting the full Independence Day experience in Houston, go big at Freedom Over Texas festival. Taking place at Eleanor Tinsley Park, the day-long celebration will feature endless fun from live music performances to sensational fireworks.
This year, the Freedom Over Texas festival will be six hours of festivities led by special live music performances from country star, Lee Brice and Ashley McBryde.
Headlining the main stage, Brice is a multi-platinum contemporary country artist and hit-maker known for such tracks as Love Like Crazy, Hard to Love, and I Drive Your Truck.
Opening the show will be Ashley McBryde, a multi-Grammy-nominated country artist who synched a win in Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her duet with Carley Pearce on Never Wanted to Be That Girl.
“We are thrilled to welcome some of the biggest country music entertainers to Houston. Lee Brice and Ashley McBryde will headline this year’s Freedom Over Texas as we celebrate our nation’s birthday and host a community-wide celebration,” said Mayor John Whitmire in a statement.
“This event is a cherished tradition for many Houston families, and 2025 brings new features that will make it more exciting, accessible, and unforgettable. It will have something for everyone, and I encourage Houstonians to join us.”
In addition to the musical performances, the festival will also feature a wide range of food trucks, retail vendors, and family fun. Featured attractions include the Bud Light Bayou Bash tropical-themed beer garden, Dr. Pepper Flavor Zone that will host meet-and-greets with Houston sports organizations representatives, and Red, White, and Play Kids Zone with games, face painting, and dance performances from G.W. The Freedom Over Texas will also feature its Liberty Park setup, that will host special military and first responder tributes.
Of course, the event will be capped off with its legendary “Texas-sized” fireworks display.
