Enjoy this weather while it lasts, Houston, because it’ll likely be the coolest that the city will see until the fall. Today, Houston is expected to have cool weather sub 80 degrees ahead of warmer days with a mix of sun and clouds.
At the time of this article, 6 am, temperatures are just below 60 degrees, expected to steadily rise throughout the day. Houston will see a little sun around 7 am with the clouds expected to come in around 8 am at a cool 62 degrees. By noon, you can probably take off that jacket you’re wearing when it hits 75 degrees.
In the afternoon, the clouds will continue to come in beyond today’s high of 76 degrees at 5 pm and part somewhat as temperatures start to drop with a marginal percentage of precipitation.
Unfortunately – and not unlike the lackluster solar eclipse in Houston – this will mean that Houston will not have ideal conditions to see the full pink moon expected to reach peak illumination in the early evening at 6:49 pm.
Looking ahead, temperatures will continue to rise despite continued cloudy weather into the weekend. Next week, from April 28 to May 4, Houston is expected to receive thunderstorms at the beginning of the week with lighter showers into May. Temperatures next week will top out at 88 degrees with a low of 72 degrees.
May’s monthly forecast will see a similar range in temperatures with highs of upper 80s and lows of low 70s, while June in Houston is forecasted to experience temperatures averaging in the low 90s and high 70s. On average, Houston usually experiences its first 100-degree day on July 19. Though, according to Houston Chronicle, the earliest date that it was 100 degrees in Houston was June 2, 2011.
