Hope you got your Fourth of July plans in order, Houston, because the weekend is finally here. After watching The Sandlot, Jaws, and/or Independence Day for the umpteenth time, barbecuing everything in sight, and testing out the weight capacity of your Yeti coolers, there is one thing that cannot be missed this 3-day weekend, and that is the city’s epic firework display.
While there plenty of firework displays scheduled for the weekend, as well as numerous vantages points by which to catch them, the most Houston experience might just be Bubbles and Fireworks Boat Tour.
Buffalo Bayou Partnership is a non-profit established over three decades ago whose purpose is to maintain and activate Buffalo Bayou through a variety of conservation and development plans and programs.
In part of their activation efforts, the partnership offers events that range from happy hours, to park bingo, as well as yoga and meditation sessions. Additionally, the group also offers a range of cistern, art, walking, biking, and boat tours.
From 8 – 10 pm on July 4th, the organization is hosting their annual Bubbles and Fireworks Boat Tour:
“Hop aboard BBP’s pontoon boat for perfect views of Houston’s spectacular fireworks show,” the organization writes on its website. “Avoid the crowds and view the city’s fireworks extravaganza while floating along Buffalo Bayou and enjoying bubbly, beer, wine and light bites.”
The cruise accommodates up to 21 guests, with tickets priced at $125 a piece. For other ideas on where to catch the city’s fireworks, see here.
Alternatively, you can keep an eye out for the next endless margarita booze cruise for Cuchara’s Xochimilco boat tour.
