Carnivores rejoice: iconic Houston BBQ joint, Goode Company BBQ, reopens to the public tomorrow, April 1, after a two-year hiatus.
Goode Company BBQ is a culinary institution started in 1977. For the past two years, its location at 20102 Northwest Fwy in the Cypress and Jersey Village area has been shuttered due to the pandemic.
“We are excited to open the doors full-time again to welcome back our friends and neighbors,” chef/owner Levi Goode said. “While we had some pop-up events and holiday drive-thru pick-ups during the pandemic, we had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close this location for daily service. We have missed serving the community and are ready to be back in the saddle again!”
The restaurant is renowned for its slow and meticulous mesquite-fired smoked ribs, sausage, and brisket. Its Cypress/Jersey Village location will initially feature A La Carte options such as Half Chicken, Czech Sausage, Jalapeño Pork sausage, Turkey breast, and Ham – all meats of which will be available in the form of sandwiches and po-boys.
Additionally, patrons will also be able to choose from a host of sides, baked goods, and desserts. Sides include such options as Austin Baked Beans, Jambalaya Texana, Coleslaw, Southwest Green Beans, and more. Dessert is highly encouraged, wherein patrons can choose from Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie, Chocolate Cream Pie, Homemade Praline, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Goode Company BBQ reopens this Friday at 20102 Northwest Fwy, and will be open from 11 am to 8 pm until Sunday. The restaurant has near future plans to expand its hours.
