Ahead of St. Patrick’s Day next week, paint the town green this weekend in Houston. From parades to bar crawls, St. Paddy’s parties, and more: Space City is set to Shamrock the party. New to the party this year is Galveston. For the first time in the coastal city’s history, Galveston will host a St. Patrick’s Parade this Saturday.
From the organizers that brought Galveston’s sensational spooky Mystical Parade of Boo Halloween parade, Luck o’ the Island is set to feature its signature whimsy, pageantry, and revelry – all with a healthy dose of Irish spirit.

Not unlike the Mystical Parade of Boo, or its many fabulous Mardi Gras! Galveston festivities, the parade will feature a vibrant array of performers, dancers, costumed participants, krewes, and floats coursing through the streets in a celebratory sight.
“This isn’t just a parade—it’s the ultimate Spring Break highlight,” organizers shave said. “Luck o’ the Island will combine Galveston’s signature parade tradition with a splash of Irish spirit.”
Attending the Luck o’ the Island is of course free, just be sure to wear green. The parade is a family-friendly event.
The Galveston St. Patrick’s Parade will commence in the historic downtown district at 5 pm on Saturday, March 15. Beginning at 28th and Market, the parade will turn east on Market to 20th Street, then north on 20th to Strand, and then west on Strand. The parade will continue to 25th Street, then south toward Santa Fe Place, then finally west on Sante Fe Place before concluding at 28th.

Organizers’ aim is for the Galveston parade to become a new tradition and annual celebration for island residents and visitors.
