The brunch your inner child deserves.
Just because you’re an “adult” doesn’t mean you have to eat like one. If you’re paying taxes, rent or a mortgage, you don’t have to eat salads and meal prep while splurging with the occasional vanilla ice cream cone.
Don’t give in to the banality of growing up. Let your youth loose with a brunch burger made of chocolate donut and Fruity Pebble French Toast at the Bosscat Kitchen & Libations. [Featured image: @its_biancacarol]
At first glance, the Bosscat Kitchen & Libations gives the impression of a rough and tumble restaurant. The interchanging wood and exposed brick walls, overhanging scent of whiskey, and slight steampunk aesthetic makes the establishment resemble a straightforward, brick-and-mortar American grill.
In some ways it is. But the Bosscat Kitchen is so much more. Their kitchen offers a lunch, brunch, happy hour, and main menu with tantalizing options in each one. Honestly I don’t even know where to begin with their main menu.
Compartmentally, the menu is divided into starters, salads & soups, sandwiches, main courses, sides, and desserts. Some dishes that pop out include the Pulled Pork Hush Puppies — which are deep-fried, cornbread-battered pork with Carolina barbeque mustard; Sugar Barrel Steak — the Chef’s cut with sweet potato mash topped with stout and caramelized onion gravy; and Red Velvet Churros, which are more or less self-explanatory.
The lunch specials include Seoul Steak, Havana Pork, and Vietnamese Chicken. From 3 – 6 p.m. on weekdays, they offer Happy Hour specials on their Pig Pickin’ Tacos, Butter Burger, Ahi Tuna Wrap, Dr. Pepper Wings, Bosscat Grilled Cheese, and Avocado Toast.
And while Bosscat puts their own spin on all these menu options, it’s their brunch menu where they get extra playful. In addition to their Fruity Pebbles French Toast, the restaurant offers a Donut Burger which consists of beef patties, American cheese, and a bacon-and-duck-fat-fried egg sandwiched between the buns of a chocolate donut. In addition, they offer Maui Meatloaf; “Tochos” — which are tater tots, Spanish chorizo, nacho cheese, jalapeno, with a fried egg; and Short Rib Chilaquiles.
Don’t sleep on their libations either. Bosscat boasts a Texas-sized selection of top-shelf whiskeys that span flavor profiles across the board. Of course, they also got your cocktails, wine, and beer.
Honor the child in you and eat the funky brunch at Bosscat Kitchen & Libations!
