Baseball season just got better in Houston. Beginning this Friday, May 19, Astros fans can snag a free doughnut courtesy of Voodoo Doughnuts when they rep Astros attire in its area locations.
Voodoo Doughnut began as a doughnut hole-in-the-wall in Portland, making its name with cheeky innuendo, eyebrow raising flavors, and bizarrely delectable doughnuts. With options like Voodoo Doll, Ring of Fire, and Diablos Rex, their doughnuts read like something out of a Tim Burton food-coma dream.
Their best donut – in our opinion, anyway – is their new blue-and-orange sprinkled cake Astros donut. Over the course of the season, the doughnut confectionary has gone out of their to show love the Crush City team, offering a free Astros doughnuts to fans wearing hometeam gear – no purchase necessary.
Voodoo Doughnut might be based in Portland but since the psychedelic confectionary landed in Houston, Voodoo has gone out of their way to support the Houston Astros. Following the Astros World Series victory, Voodoo gave out a free doughnut to all customers.
“The Astros are a source of pride for the city of Houston, so we wanted to create an offer that fans could get dressed up for and celebrate in a sweet way,” said Chris Schultz, Voodoo Doughnut’s CEO.
The grand slam deal begins on May 19, and will be available on June 2, June 16, July 7, July 28, August 11, August 18, and September 1, 8 and 22.
Since its inception, the Voodoo has taken over the country, now with three Houston locations, on Washington, Westheimer, and Barker Cypress Rd. Voodoo Doughnut is open 24 hours a day.
