In part of its 3rd annual Global Tastemakers Awards, Food & Wine has put together a list of the best restaurants in the United States. Coming in at No. 11 is Houston’s own Nancy’s Hustle.
Through a network of 400 chefs, writers, and pros, Food & Wine has compiled rankings and recommendations based on their favorites for the best restaurants in the United States including Nancy’s Hustle in Houston.
Located at 2704 Polk Street in East Downtown, Nancy’s Hustle is an acclaimed modern bistro, wine bar, and Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient.
Here’s what Food & Wine had to say about Nancy’s Hustle:
“‘We like butter,’ declares the team at Nancy’s Hustle, and it’s demonstrably true. The laid-back bistro and wine bar makes 45 pounds of cultured butter each week to smear on the outstandingly fluffy ‘Nancy Cakes,’ along with a briny burst of trout roe”.
“That butter is also incorporated into fun snacks like crispy-bottomed dumplings and a slick endive salad. Cutting through the fat, there’s also a killer natural wine list, which helped snag a Bib Gourmand designation from the Michelin Guide and several James Beard Award nods. Nancy’s might have started as the neighborhood joint of the east side, but it’s worth the trip to Texas.”
The top 5 best restaurants in the United States according to Food & Wine are as such:
1. Burdell in Oakland
2. Canlin in Seattle
3. The Musket Room in New York City
4. Lowland in Charleston
5. Emeril’s in New Orleans
In addition to naming the best restaurants in the country, Food & Wine also published a list of the best food cities in the United States. For the first time since the magazine launched its Global Tastemakers Awards, Houston landed in the top 10 best food cities.
