In anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Netherlands’ famous double-decker orange bus has arrived in the Port of Galveston to rev up Dutch fans.
After traveling 4,500 miles across the Atlantic Ocean on a cargo ship over 26 days, the legendary Netherlands’ double-decker bus has made its way to Galveston.
What began as a joke, has become one of the most iconic symbols in international sports fandom. Back in 2004, two Dutchman purchased a double decker while on a trip in the UK. When they brought the bus back home, they modified it with bright orange paint, a terrace balcony, massive speakers, and a DJ booth.

The iconic bus now serves as the “General” of Netherlands soccer fandom – or the “Oranje Legion”. For over two decades, the bus has traveled to World Cup games across the globe, including Qatar, South African, and Brazil.
In these countries, the bus has lead tens of thousands of Dutch fans on their famous fan marches. Clad in bright orange, fans follow the bus on course to the stadium as tracks blast from the bus’s speakers and DJ booth.
Though the Netherlands team has been training in Kansas City, the country will play a number of high-profile games in Texas in the opening weeks – hence why the Dutch bus is in Galveston. On June 20, Netherlands will face off against Sweden in Houston. Then, Houstonians can get a glimpse of the bus and its wake of bright orange fans on the way to NRG Stadium.
Before which, the Dutch team will play Japan in Dallas on June 14.
Officials are still working on the specifics as to where the bus will be while in Houston, but interested parties can follow its official Instagram page (among 83,200 other followers) here.
