Like it or not, pumpkin season is upon us. Time for pumpkin patches, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin beer, pumpkin bread, and – why not – pumpkin ravioli. If you consider yourself a die hard pumpkin person, Houston has something special in store for you this October.
Kicking off Friday, October 4, Pumpkins After Dark is taking over Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures with over 10,000 hand-carved pumpkins, larger-than-life installations, and all things Halloween.
Incepted in Milton, Ontario in Canada back in 2019, Pumpkins After Dark is a walk-through Halloween-inspired event that features an array of cult characters, illuminated installations, intricate sculptures, and special effects.
The experience quickly became a hit, later opening experiences in Burnaby, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Ottawa. This October, Pumpkins After Dark is making its US debut in Houston.
In Canada, Pumpkins After Dark earned a Hamilton Halton Brant Innovative Tourism Award and Festivals & Events Ontario Achievement Award.
Running select dates from October 4 to October 31, Pumpkins After Dark Houston is set to feature is iconic sculptures, immersive eerie atmosphere, and magical special effects, and characters ranging from pop culture icons to dinosaurs and dragons.
The Halloween event in Houston also features live pumpkin-carving demos, food trucks, a monster maze, fall treats and sweets, as well as a plethora of potential photo-ops.
Tickets to Pumpkins After Dark in Houston are now on sale through the event website. Note, tickets are ONLY AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE PURCHASE – not sold on-site. Tickets start at $25 for adults (18 and over); $15 for those aged between the ages of 4 and 17. Family Package tickets are also available for $18.75 with a minimum purchase of 4 tickets. Children under three are permitted free entrance.
Ticket purchases are valid for the chosen timeslot with a window of 2 hours and 15 minutes.
