Spooky season is back! Time to gnosh on Halloween candy, briskly walk through haunted houses, and reap all the seasonal eats and drinks. Among our favorite Halloween themed experiences returning to Houston for the season is the Cursed Cauldron, set to haunt the space of Botonica this October.
For its third year, Cursed Cauldron will take over its new permanent home of Botonica, the lush, Latin-inspired cocktail bar from Cursed Cauldron co-founder, Alexis Mijares. Running from Friday, October 3, to Sunday, November 2, the Cursed Cauldron will provide the darkly enchanting decor of your nightmares, along with spine-tingling libations, special spooky season events, and more.

The “witchlike wonderland” will be comprised of three immersive spaces, named “The Apotheca Room, Nightshade Parlor, and the second-floor Coven’s Haunt speakeasy — all of which feature immersive, devilishly delightful decor, and Halloween-card-worthy installations.
Over the course of spooky season, the Cursed Cauldron will host a series of live events. See its schedule below:
- Movie Night with Pumpkin Paint & Sip (Sundays beginning October 6)
- Tarot Tuesdays (Tuesdays)
- Bewitched Burlesque (Wednesdays)
- Witch-craft classes (Saturdays)

Of course, the Cursed Cauldron will also feature a cabinent’s worth of themed cocktails conjured up by Mijares herself. Each drink is intended to augment the otherworldly atmosphere of the event, with and without spirits. Cocktails include the following:
- Coven’s Calling
- Harvest Moon Punch
- Freyja’s Cup
- Oshun’s Offering
- Liliths’ Lullaby
Bites will also be available at the event, designed to pair with the above offerings and fit in with the theme. Options include the Great Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll, Char-Boo-terie Board, and Paranormal Pizza.
Cursed Cauldron will haunt Botonica at 2301 Westcreek Lane from October 3 — November 2. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are highly encouraged. Daring visitors can make their reservations through the bar’s website here. Costumes encouraged.
