Back when your correspondent was a wee lad, they were astounded when the local carwash offered popcorn in the lobby as their parent had the family car cleaned. Since then, society has truly come a long way. Drip Coffee Cafe in the Galleria area is a fully-functioning carwash and cafe that serves a delectable assortment of coffees and food items.
Open 8 am to 6 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 8 am to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, the black-owned business serves a wonderful array of crepes, waffles, and pastries, that include The Nutella, Dulce De Leche, and S’mores crepes, as well as their Tripler Chocolate, Maple, and Tropical Forest waffles.
In addition to Texas Toast-fixed breakfast sandwiches, Drip also offers a variety of savory breakfast tacos, with the house favorites being the bacon, egg, and cheese and steak, egg, and cheese. For more options, visitors can go to town on appetizers and entrees ranging from Jerk Shrimp and Grits to Wings & Waffles with Honey Maple Sauce.
Drink-wise, customers can find all the coffee house staples accounted for, as well as a variety of available teas. Recently, Drip has begun offering customers the choice to smoke hookah on their spacious covered patio while waiting, with shisha flavors ranging from peach, mint, and lemon to strawberry and double apple.
