We’re well into the fall, but here in Houston, you would think that it’s still summer. Though we’ve had a couple cool mornings the past week or so, we can’t help but long for a nice crisp fall day typical of the season. Which makes us wonder, when is Houston expected to receive a cold front?
Help is on the way. After temperatures are predicted to reach record highs of 96 degrees on Monday and 95 degrees on Tuesday, this week, temperatures in Houston are expected to drop for a couple days – giving Houstonians much needed respite from the heat.
Be sure to schedule a visit to your local cafe for a pumpkin spice latte on Wednesday morning when Houston will experience an actual fall day. Hump day temperatures include a high of 75 and low of 56.
Forecasters predict that Thursday will feature similar conditions with a high of 76 and low of 63. Both days sunny with pleasant, intermittent breezes.
“Some kind of front will arrive by around Tuesday, and thereafter we should see cooler days (probably in the lower 80s at least) and nights in the 50s or lower 60s,” says Eric Berger of Space City Weather.
“There’s likely no precipitation with the front, but rain chances do appear to be elevated beginning Friday and running into next weekend.”
Looking ahead, forecasters predict that temperatures will start to balance out – expecting that the average high for the next week or so will be around 84 degrees with lows around 67 degrees.
The cooler weather this week provides an ample chance of taking part in the wonderful fall activities in Houston, not excluding pumpkin patches, fall festivals, Halloween activities, and more.
