Dickens on the Strand is one of those holiday traditions that doesn’t quite make sense but we love it anyways. Victorian pageantry, roaming Dickens characters and costumed vendor peddling thier wears in rolling carts? We’re not exactly sure where this tradition came from but we are here to celebrate.
Whether you’re a Tiny Tim, Oliver Twist, or fancy yourself as more of a Scrooge – you can cosplay as your favorite Dickens character at the coming Dickens on the Strand in Galveston slated to transform Galveston into the streets of 19th-century London from December 1 to 3.
For the past half a century, Dickens on the Strand – presented by the British Consulate-General Houston – has taken place on the first weekend of December in Galveston. Each year, the event features the sights and sounds of the legendary Charles Dickens.
