There’s still plenty of summer left to go, Houston. If you’re still trying to make a splash this August, Big Rivers Waterpark in New Caney, home to the Houston area’s longest lazy river, is hosting an adults-only waterpark experience this August.
The Aloha Beach Party, scheduled for Friday, August 14th, is a 21+ event set to feature fire dancers, Hawaiian performances, specialty cocktails, and more.
Big Rivers Waterpark in Houston
Big Rivers Waterpark & Adventures is an 80‑acre, hybrid water and adventure park in New Caney – about 30–40 minutes north of downtown Houston. Opened in May 2019 as part of the larger Grand Texas development, the waterpark features a plethora of aquatic attractions including a series of record breakers. These include the largest interactive play structure in Texas, the tallest waves in Houston (provided by its Boca Chica Bay wavepool), and the longest lazy river in the Houston area.
Additionally, Big Rivers features a the full-sized fairgrounds that offers rodeo-style thrill rides like the Rolling Thunder rollercoaster, Screaming Eagles, and the 140-foot SPINdletop. Dryland activities include ziplines and rock climbing walls along with axe-throwing and archery to a forest maze, a petting zoo, and a gator interaction area.
What to expect at the Aloha Beach Party
On Friday, August 14th, Big Rivers will open select waterpark attractions to 21+ visitors for its Aloha Beach Night. The adults-only, after-hours party will feature a special luau theme; as such, the event will feature fire dancers, Hawaiian dancers and live performances, and a live DJ. Of course, the luau will also feature specialty cocktails and tropical food offerings.
The waterpark has not revealed exactly which park – water or fairground – attractions will be open for the event. According to the event website, it will depend on weather and/or operations.
Aloha Beach Party ticketing information
Tickets for Aloha Beach Night at Big Rivers Waterpark are available directly through the park’s website priced at $24.99. Those that already have a 2026 or 2027 Classic Season Pass can enjoy free entry. As the event is exclusive to 21+ visitors, valid government-issued photo ID is required for entry.
