This fall, Austin-based Clark’s Seafood and Oyster Bar is bringing their catch of the day to Houston with an outpost in Montrose.
MML Hospitality Group, FKA McGuire Moorman Hospitality, is a restaurant, retail, and hotel group based out of the Texas capital. As for their eateries, the group is responsible for some of Austin’s hottest eateries including Pecan Square Cafe, Favorite Pizza, Pool Burger, and June’s All Day to name a few.
They’re also the same group behind Clark’s Austin, a chic seafood indoor-and-outdoor bistro that specializes in fresh fish, lobster rolls, pan-roasted hamburgers, and house-made sourdough.
This fall, the group is opening an outpost here in Houston:
“We’ve Got Some News: Clark’s is headed to Houston,” reads the Instagram post. “We’re excited to announce the third location of Clark’s Seafood and Oyster Bar in the Montrose neighborhood at the corner of Montrose & W Alabama just down the street from the Menil. We’ll be serving up all the Clark’s favorites—caviar, shrimp cocktail, lobster rolls, cioppino, grilled Gulf fish, juicy Gruyere-topped burgers, shoestring fries, and all the bubbles and martinis.”
Its libations menu features a plenitude of spirits, as well as wines, beer, martinis, spritzers, and assorted cocktails. Clark’s also offers Happy Hour five days a week between 3 and 5 pm with half-priced burgers, half-priced martinis, 50-cent off oysters, and $5 oyster shooters.
Clark’s will be located in the 22,500-square-feet space formerly occupied by Montrose Car Care. At the time of this article, the restaurant hasn’t announced an official opening date.
Before that happens, another Austin transplant plans to open. Gabriela’s Group, an Austin-based, Latin-owned restaurant management group responsible for some of Austin’s hottest eateries including Taquero Mucho, Mala Vida, and Revival Cafe, are opening their eponymous Gabriela’s restaurant here in Houston with birria tacos and Mexican dessert-inspired libations .
