It’s the World Series, baby! The Astros are in it to win it once again and the whole city has got their backs. If you need some edible outlet for nervous snacking, or purely want to make your commitment to the team a culinary one, this Houston bakery is dishing out the goods for the home team!
Voodoo Doughnut began as a doughnut hole-in-the-wall in Portland, making its name with cheeky innuendo, eyebrow raising flavors, and bizarrely delectable doughnuts. With options like Voodoo Doll, Ring of Fire, and Diablos Rex, their doughnuts read like something out of a Tim Burton food-coma dream.
Since its inception, the Voodoo has taken over the country, now with three Houston locations, on Washington , Westheimer, and Barker Cypress Rd.
While the doughnut makers have been possessed by the festive spirit of the Halloween season as a late, making special batches of darling, and at times, mildly creepy themed doughnuts, it’s a different spirit that’s taken them lately – and that’s Astros fever.
Voodoo have begun turning out batches of Astros-inspired doughnuts just in time for the World Series. Now on sale, fans can purchase sprinkle cake doughnuts for 25 cents a piece on game days.
Voodoo Doughnuts is located at 3715 Washington Ave Suite A, 1214 Westheimer Rd., and 9320 Barker Cypress Rd and is open 24 hours.
