Houston has really been living up to its Space City reputation as of late. In the past few months, the city has seen the return of the awe-inspiring Space Explorers: THE INFINITE, the opening of the Austrian-based Solar Dust multi-media exhibition at POST, to the debut of ARTECHOUSE.
ARTECHOUSE is an experiential-based digital art studio founded in Washington DC in 2015. The creative production studio is comprised of a team of architects, designers, producers, and storytellers who create original multi-sensory experiences for audiences of all ages. Since 2017, the studio has produced over 30 multi-sensory art exhibitions, 150 XR activations, and 10 live shows.
The company has three permanent locations across the United States, in DC, Miami, and New York, New York, and most recently, Houston.
Open at 600 W. 6th Street in The Heights, the ARTECHOUSE venue features multiple gallerias, in a tech-driven environment across 26,000 square feet of space. The innovative space features three distinctive cinematic, interactive, and immersive installations: Beyond The Lights, Intangible Forms, and Eternal Life.
Beyond The Light is an ARTECHOUSE original, award-winning exhibition. Produced in collaboration with NASA, the exhibit takes visitors on an interstellar exploration through space though 8 interactive installations and images captured by the Hubble Space and James Webb Space telescopes.
Intangible Forms is an exhibit from the mind of renowned Japanese multi-media artist, Shohei Fujimoto. Intangible Forms explores the worldly connections between humans and their perceived realities through choreographed lights, lasers, and strobes.
Created in collaboration with the Nobel Prize Museum, Eternal Life journeys visitors through constellations, CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology and Nobel Prize-wining works.
The venue also features the on-site, augmented reality XR bar: “where drinks come to life”.
ARTECHOUSE is now open at 600 W. 6th Street in The Heights. Tickets are now on sale for $24 for General Admission. Children tickets are priced at $15.
