With temperatures riding into the 100s, we’re smack dab in the middle of summer in Houston. On the heels of Great Wolf Lodge opening in Webster, a new lagoon in Houston area is making its debut. Angel Lagoon is a 4-acre crystal lagoon in Dayton, Texas is finally opening all its aquatic splendor this Labor Day Weekend. .
Proclaiming to be the first-ever public access lagoon in the state, Angel Lagoon is an aquatic oasis complete with crystal-clear waters that will make the centerpiece of a 40-acre mixed-use, amenity village situated on a 150-acre development property in Dayton.
If you recall, Angel Lagoon celebrated its unofficial opening this past Memorial Day Weekend. We say unofficial, however, as the lagoon’s waters weren’t ready for visitors. This Labor Day Weekend, however, Angel Lagoon will be hosting its official grand opening when the venue will continue to roll-out its aquatic entertainment ranging from kayaking, paddle boarding, as well as sailing – including a national sailing club where interested parties can learn to sail.
Additionally, the beach-side venue features an amphitheater complete with a floating stage for live music performances, as well as a heated swim zone, and palapa grill, an open-air kitchen where patrons can enjoy tropical cocktails, burgers, and tacos. Food trucks, beach volleyball courts, and a hammock lawn will also be on-site.
“Can you imagine driving and suddenly seeing the turquoise blue water that you imagine you could only see in the Bahamas or in beautiful places right here in the city of Dayton, Texas? Beach life? You can see beautiful cabanas will have lounge chairs, water sports. It’s going to be a gathering place where we’ll have lots of festivals, food and wine festivals,” said CEO of The Lagoon Development Company, Uri Man.
Angel Lagoon is a project from The Lagoon Development Company, the same team behind Texas City’s Lago Mar as well as Balmoral Crystal Clear Lagoon & Beach Club in Humble.
Angel Lagoon opens this Labor Day Weekend at 15 River Ranch Blvd. in Dayton, Texas 40 minutes driving from Downtown, Houston.
